Anyone from western Ky

I have a friend who is in evansville and she attends a support group there....let me see if i can gather some info from her to pass on to everyone!

Go on Lee Ann, make my day....Really, you would be a great person if you could lighten my path to a support group meeting.

I had mine at St. Marys and they confirmed that meetings are only open to those that go through their program.  Seems kind of snooty to me.  They are supposed to be calling me back with a list of group meetings that are unconnected to any certain place.  I will let you know.  If they are more convenient to me, I may go to those instead.

Way to go Karen. I have never liked St Marys for  many reasons. Every time I go there to visit someone I hear of another problem with the administration. This is just one more to add to the fire.

If I had to go to Evansville, it would be Deaconess, if I had a choice.

I hope we can find a support group that would welcome us instead of shunning us.

Support groups at Norton downtown and Norton Suburban are open to the public. The downtown seminars are one Tuesday a month and the Suburban seminars are generally the 4th Thursday each month, in the evening. November and December differ from the routine schedule because of the holidays. There is always a planned topic -- Plastic Surgery this month. The nutritionist and psychologist are always present to answer questions.

I hear that.  Nov. 23 6:30 - 8:00 p.m St. Marys Hospital in the basement.  Dec. 16th same time at Deaconess Hospital.  They are sending me a written schedule in the mail.  These are not affiliated with any surgeon or hospital they say, and open (free) to anyone who has had any kind of WLS.  I will go to the Nov. 23 one because i have a conflict with the one at my bariatric center.  We shall see!

Cathy, welcome to our small group. I am going to try to go to the Nov support group at St Marys. All of us could show up and eat all their cookies, and kind of overwhelm them. I'm for it.....John
