Swine Flu

This weekend could seriously not get any better if I jumped off a 5 story building

Not only did I have to have all of the fluid removed from my band Friday morning but I started running a fever about eleven o'clock Friday night and for almost 24 hours it wouldn't drop below 103(even with tylenol and advil) I went to our local Urgent Care and the doctor determined I have flipping swine flu.
She was really great though she broke the news to me pretty nicely. She said I am really, really sorry to tell you this but you have the big flu that is affecting people of your age group. She then said I know it's really scary but please try not to be scared. So they put me on Tamiflu and sent me home.

I know we are suppose to try and be positive on this forum but I really think I have earned the right to say life this week is sucking big time

Well I hope and pray for a fast recovery. Take care of your self and do what you're suppose to do. You're tough...you can handle it. Let me know how you're doing...Best wishes.

Besides feeling like total crap. One of the worst things I had to do was tell everyone(the doctor who treated me said I needed to inform everyone) I had been in relatively close contact with this week that included Dr. Tom who is trying to vacation with his family so I had to send a message through G.town Hospital to him, my brother who is leaving for Bermuda Monday, my best friend who is 4 months pregnant, plus we had to ship Mollie off to my mom's(good news the dog went with her)and I can't go over there till at least Wednesday or Thursday(because of my parent's age and health).

Oh well

Oh I may be sicker than a dog and have no fluid in my band but at least I have football, my goose comforter, my couch and Patrick(who has been beyond wonderful except when he left me  in the waiting room at Urgent care to go buy a new dishwasher I guess he had a good point it was a 2 hr wait and there was no reason for him to sit there and possibly get exposed even more to something) to comfort me.
We had to ship poor Mollie over to my mom's but the dog went with her so she's not completely bored and his mom is taking her shopping for her winter wardrobe this afternoon and then he is taking her to buy her Halloween costume it will be the first time in 13 years I haven't been with her to pick a costume.

I hope you start feeling better soon! Our schools closed a week early to due it... My son was sick, although tested negative initially for swine, Doct said thats probably what it was and treated him and our whole family  with the Tamiflu...$$$$ I think there's a scam going on with the pharmacy's...LOL cause that stuff was expensive..LOL

Anyway..from what I know it's a short lived flu not like the regular so hopefully you'll be feeling better really soon!

Thank you for your thoughts
Today at Mollie's jr. high they had from the 7th grade alone 107 students out with it. They had 5 teachers sick with it and 1 in the hospital but she is preggers and from my understanding diabetic.

I think it is a scary thing but I didn't panic we are just being precaucious with friends and family. The dr. who treated me told us we had to contact everyone that we had come into contact with in the last week.

I just hope they get it controlled and the media stops hyping it so much other than just feeling like total hell(and not being able to get my fever under 102) it hasn't been as bad as some illnesses I've had like pneumonia and rheumatic fever
