KRISTI is in surgery........

This is KRISTI and today his her second chance...9/9/09

She was wheeled into surgery at noon (your time~I'm in TX)..I spoke with her mom and the doc told them it should take about an hour and half to 2 hours....so you all start your prayer circle, swing chickens, rub Buddha's belly and don't step on a crack.....at least for the next 2 hours!!

Not to worry anyone but I did tell ya I would keep you posted....The doctor has told Krist's mom that they want to keep Kristi in ICU for the night.  Mom didn't get a reason as of yet.  The doctor said that Kristi did well during surgery but I don't understand the ICU admittance...

I will check in again in an hour or so.....I don't think y'all are swing those chickens hard enough!

Well it's been a little over an hour or so since my last update...


Kristi is in ICU in alot of pain.  They had to sedate her.  I still don't know what is going on.  If this is normal procedure for her doctor or something has gone wrong.  Kristi's mom and I are a nervous wreck....

I do know that Kristi had her planned lap surgery it didn't have to go open but I don't know anything else..

I will talk with Kristi's mom later this evening....no more updates until then.

YEAH   YEAH!!  I just spoke to Kristi....she is doing fine except for some pain.

She is in ICU because that is how this doctor does things...no complications on her part.

I will speak to her tomorrow and see how she did through the night...

Now I can sleep better too!!!!

Hey Dawn Dr. S. is very very carefull about sending you out of icu(or plain old recovery). He is very very protective of his patients(just like I have heard about so many doctors on here).
I had just the plain old realize band and most of the time he holds you for 23hrs of observation, but I was having a difficult time keeping my oxegen saturation up and I was puking like crazy from the anesthsia so he actually kept me 3 days. He is definitely the kind of doctor who believes lets be very very safe than sorry.

I am so glad she is feeling better. I remeber that left side sure does hurt it's the side they do most of the work through. I will continue to send good thoughts her way.

Hey Dawn!  I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to be online earlier-the ICU for the first night is what Dr. Sonnanstine does for RNY patients, and then she'll spend a night in the bariatric center tomorrow night.  I'm going to see her after I get off work tomorrow & bring her a card.  :)

I'm glad to hear that she's doing well...please keep me up dated on her progress til she gets home. Best of luck!!!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! I'm home today...finally. Had a fever so got kept an extra night. I barely remember anything from the first day other than being nauseous. They kept telling me they were going to get me up to walk and then they'd give me more pain meds and knock me out lol so I didn't get to wal****il almost midnight. Wasn't too bad after that point really. The majority of my pain is in the left side...go figure! Have a few twinges in my belly button but other than that doing pretty good. I have noticed that it seems like after surgery I forgot everything I was supposed to eat during the full liquid diet lol. So brushing up on my info.
