Brand Newbie-help

Hi all!
I am just starting my journey with WLS.  I have completed my 6 month diet that my insurance required and have done the assessment with Norton Bariatric.  I am waiting to hear from Dr. Allen's office so I can meet with him and get this show on the road.  I called the office yesterday to see if they  had gotten my information and they hadn't.  Should I call back?  I dont want to be a pest but am really anxious to get my surgery schedules.  Also, has anyone had Dr. Allen and if so, what were your thoughts on him?

Congrats on your journey!!! It's like jumping through hoops by the time your all done!!! Dr. Allen is my Doctor.. he's a great surgeon..
I would call back.. they have just transitioned to a new location ( norton suburban) so you may want to keep on them. I'm sure they got tired of hearing from me when I was going through the process!!!
Congrats, and keep us updated on your progress.. are you thinking Lapband or RNY?

I went to Dr. Allen's seminar and I went to Dr Shina's and I wound up liking Dr. Shina better, he is not the best people person in my opinion but he tells you like it is no matter what, which I appreciate in a surgeon, Dr Shina "hit home" for me more.

Everyone is different, I know some people who went to and loved Dr Allen, and I also know several friends and co workers that used Dr Shina.

I did not have to stay on Dr. Shina's office at all, they actually came to me regularly, but I did really have to stay on my PCP's office to get everything needed over to Dr. Shina's.

Best of luck to you, hope it gets submitted to your insurance quickly and they respond quickly for you! That waiting period I was a nervous wreck till I got approved. And the day I got my approval I jumped up and down.
