Funny CPAP questions
Ok so my husabnd Patrick has sleep apnea and wears the CPAP and his is the kind that if you look at it you could seriously mistake it for snorkeling gear.
Well I have two qeustions one does it amke you sleep super super deep and wo because you are aparently sleeping so deeply it makes you do weird things in your sleep?
Here's why I ask:
When Pat puts the thing on his is the kind that when you take a single deep breath in it turns on. Well honestly I swear on my new shoes that I bought yesterday(that he doesn't know about yet) that literally by the second deep breath he is totally unconscious like seriously a high school cross country team in a parade could go running through our bedroom and he wouldn't move
Secondly since he has had this thing I don't know how many times he has woken me up by doing weird things in his sleep one night he was smacking me on the top of my head and he kept saying i love you dumb bunny, then one night he was playing softball in his sleep because he was swinging his arms and then he started running in his sleep, another night he was yelling about his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers in his sleep, last night he kept asking me( it was more like arguing with me) why I sewed all of his navy blue socks together ( first of all I don't sew second of all he has a pair of navy blue socks because he has no navy blue pants to go with them in fact I think the socks are his brothers that he borrowed when he had to wear a navy suit for some fundraising event we went to.
Just thought I'd ask cause seriously if he wakes me up one more time I think we might have to chance him stopping breathing( I am only joking but it was a thought)

Honey you need to talk to my hubby.
I had sleep apnea and the snorkeling mask and i beat him up one night and one night he had to yell for the kids to help him i was tickling him and saying baby things to him.
I sung to him which im still not sure how that happened.
The list goes on
Dont be so hard on the poor guy,he doesnt know what he is doing..

Oh goodness it must be a cpap thing then.
Cause one night he went to bed before me which is pretty typical because I tend to sleep very very few hours I only average about 3-4 a night well when I finally was able to fall asleep I crawled into bed I woke up before him and when I went to wake him I noticed he had somehow managed to take off his mask and put on his glasses and then put the mask back on again.
I'm not hard on him he has actually started calling when he gets to work in the morning to get the reoport of what he did the night before and it's usally a good laugh between us.
We went on vacation back in August and we had Mollie with us and we shared a room he fell alseep before the two of us and all of the sudden he starts singing the national anthem and Mollie is like mom is dad singing in his sleep well the next night he was trying to get out of bed to pack his suitcase because he kept saying we're late we're late it's time to go. The next morning he didn't remeber anything and Mollie and I just cracked up

Haha I had to laugh because I've had this to happen to me....and the person wearing the cpap..is me lol. I reckon I done all kinds of weird things to everyone in the house when I had mine on. I will tell you this...I had to stop wearing mine because I had a toddler in the house because it would make me go into a deep sleep that it was murder to wake me up. I felt refreshed though when I woke up. I was afraid that I wouldn't wake up if my baby needed me so I stop wearing it. But now that I have someone with me...I need mine back bad. But yeah it will give you and whoever you beat the crap outta or listen to ya a good laugh. They say it gets better though after a while. Just give him time I guess, but then again...it may never quit. Best of luck and hope all is well....

Oh god if I give him anymore time we could both be dead it's been three years already.
This morning he was slightly awake he kept asking me to make the dog be quiet he failed to realize the dog was actually our alarm clock.
We are going to watch the Bungals(oh sorry I mean) Bengals play a preseaon game tonight against the Colts it's football so god only knows what he'll be yelling while alseep.
My mom says at least all of this light sleeping can keep a person on their toes in case of an emergency and I'm like yeah mom that's great and all but who's going to be here for me when he accidently rolls over and smacks me with his fist somewhere other than my forehead I can see me explainging that to the emergency room dr. "ma'ma did you get into a fight or something well yes doctor but he had an unfair advantage he was asleep and wearing his CPAP in fact the ambulance had to bring me because he's still unconscious" or worse yet I'm going to have a heart attack because he is going to be sleep fighting and screaming at some unknown force.
Oh well at least the stories make the 3 of us laugh.
Have a very blessed day

Wendy does he take Ambien or a sleep medication also? I do the same thing as hubby and we found it was the Ambien doing it along with the CPAP. So they have changed my medication so I don't do it anymore.
My CPAP is ramped so mine starts at setting 4 and gradually goes up to 11 after 15 minutes but I fall right alseep the minute I take a couple breaths. Mine also because of my severe apnea I still sometimes stop breathing and if I do an alarm goes off and hubby shakes me and tells me to breath lol its funny but its not. hope you get some relief lol. I know night before last I had RLS and I was kicking hubby all night he was ready to kick me in the you know what

No he's not on any meds at all and has lost a boat load of weight since his surgery.
We went to the bengals game to night so god only knows what he might be acting out in his sleep.
It doesn't really bother me too bad I just think it's kind of funny. I no longer have to work (according to him) and so if he does keep me up all night I can lay back down after he and Mollie are gone. I am actually very relieved he has the CPAP cause when we first got married he tossed and turned and snored like crazy all night and could not stay a wake through out the day and especially when he got home from work.
It's just funny when other people share their stories about the CPAP it's amazing what the mind is doing while we're unconscious
