I just wanted to say hi, I have been hanging out a lot at the RNY forums for the last several months and just now realised there are local forums too.  So now I am excited to be able to see people from around here with the same surgeon  etc and hope to make new friends.

I had my RNY on 08/14 at Suburban,  and just got my staples out today and got the 2 week post op packet. I am getting ready to eat real food tonight for the first time OMG no more soup soup soup!!! Anyway I look forward to getting to know y'all better!!

hi Melissa and welcome to the KY board.     If you need anything just holler.   My email is on my profile.   Hope that you will be at the support group meetings.   Staying with support groups help in the journey.    The support groups are the 2nd Tues of the month at Norton Pavillion downtown and the 4th Thursday of the month at Suburban Hospital in the Womens Pavillion.   Again if you need anything let anyone of us on this board know

Can you please tell me what times these support groups meet? I work from 9-6 and have used up all of my time off for the rest of the year during my surgery/recovery not to mention my son's oncologist appointments. I can not afford to miss work but I would love to be able to attend. If they are around 6 I can try to talk to my boss about coming in and leaving early one day a month, but anything earlier than that would be just too tough for me to make at least till after the first of the year.  OMG I LOVE this smiley!! (If you can't tell I am a sucker for them LOL).

Hi Melissa

Good luck on your journey.

Yeah I was relieved to not eat soup for a bit just remeber the first few days on real food go slow don't get into to big of a hurry to try new things.

The people on here are pretty good about supporting each other and are very quick to try and answer any questions you have.
