I'm not quite ready for plastics, but its been on my mind alot lately.  I guess all this flabby skin is starting to play a toll on me.  I'm 10 1/2 months out from surgery and I've lost around 115 pounds since surgery.  I am 5'4" and weigh 174 pounds.  I have about 25 more pounds to go til my goal weight.  Wearing a size 10...would of never thunk it!!

My questions are:  1.  How early is to early to meet with a surgeon??

                            2.  Anyone that has had tummy tuck, arms or other plastics done in
KY or TN that can recommend a surgeon??

                             3.  I've done some research on costs, but most surgeons don't post
the cost of surgeries on thier sites... price breakdown for
                                  procedures?

I heard there is a plastics in Lexington by the name of either Schantz or Shantz.  I am not quite sure of the spelling.  I believe Dr. S as well as Dr's Weiss and Oldham recommend him.  Maybe one of their patients will jump in with more info.
Taking the kids to school this morning, they are excited as they started a new place yesterday..  Let us see how long that last!!  lol

Dr Schantz is AWESOME!!!!! I have seen his work personally and several OR personel have gone to him for plastic surgery, including some post bariatric surgery.  After I have mine, he is whom I will go to for surgery!  Does a great job!!!!!!!

Dr. Schantz or Dr. Wells...  I have heard lots of good things about Dr. Schantz (I believe he is who Oldham/Weiss refer people to, but my surgeon referred people to Dr. Wells)  Wells did an awesome job...I had a full tummy tuck and a breast reduction.  He did recommend doing them at separate times because it would've been a lot of surgery to do on a person at once (and the tummy tuck itself was like 3x worse than my open RNY surgery.)  He did make sure I had the pain under control and stuff, and I saw him regularly for I believe 2 yrs for post-op visits.  The only thing I regret is not losing that "Extra 25 lbs I just "couldn't lose"....I think I would've been more satisfied in the long run.

Ins. paid for the breast reduction and the lower part of the abdominoplasty (the pannilectumy or however you spell it)... we had to pay for the other half of the tummy tuck & the anesthesia during the time that half was performed.  I was 2 yrs out when I went for the consult, and had the surgery 5-6 months later.
