Ft Knox area??
Is anyone in the Ft Knox area? My husband is army and we will be moving to Ft Knox in November/December. I had surgery in April and will need a surgeon to do my fills and all my after care with. Does anyone know for a good surgeon in the Ft Knox area? I found out today that I have to see a surgeon at a center of excellance for my insurance to pay for it.
Thanks in advance!

You have tricare insurance right? Gotta love military insurance pays for pretty much everything you just have to search under every rock and in every cave to find a doctor in network. Been there done that.
Dr. Thomas Sonnanstine is at Georgetown Hospital in Georgetown Ky. The hospital and his practice are centers of excellence.
He is a great doctor and his office staff is awesome. His nurse Steve is great and is extremely knowledgable about every wls question imaginable. You see the doctor for your visits. He does not use PA's or nurse practioners.
Georgetown is about 2hrs and 45 minutes away from Ft. Knox/ Elizabethtown. He is well worth the drive we live close to Cincinnati and it's about a 2 hour trip for us.

I live in t he area, about 15 miles away. I see the Louisville Bariatrics Associates. Dr Schuster is the one I see.
The office staff is fairly indifferent towards the patients, but he seems to have all the time in the world & is extremely competent & compassionate. The office is also a center of excellence. They have 3 different offices in Louisville, about 40 miles from Ft Knox.

Welcome to Hardin County!! I had my surgery in Louisville with Norton Bariatrics (Dr. David Geller) -- only about 45 minutes away from Elizabethtown, probably less from Ft. Knox. There is a new bariatric doc in E'town that operates @ Hardin Memorial Hospital. If you are interested I will try to look up more info & you can pm me, ok?? :-) I think you should be able to find a doc either in L'ville or this newer one in E'town to help you with your fills.
Hello I have tricare and they sent me through University Surgical Associates. I would say once you get here make an appointment with your primary caregiver so they can refer you. You know tricare you have to have referalls for everything. I live in Radcliff which is about 10 minutes from Ft. Knox but I did everything in Louisville. I had my surgery April 28th at Nortons. My doctor is Benjiman Tanner and he was great. He is very friendly and good at his job. I havent heard the greatest things about Hardin Memorial and their Baratic services. But I do believe the only deal with the band so u might have good luck with them helping you find a doctor. Like I said I would go to your primary first thing and see what they say.
