Thank God for this surgery
hi all,
I just went today to the Cardiologist for an ankle/brachial bloodflow test. It was routine and required by my insurance. It wasn't pleasant with BP cuffs on 3 parts of my leg and both arms. It was over pretty quick and the tech said he thought everything looked good but as I was laying on the table I thought where would I be if I hadn't had surgery 5 months ago.
When I went to my GP she said all my labs (including my diabetes levels) were within normal levels.
I'm exercising more than I have in years and have so much more energy. I've got a High School reunion coming up and am actually looking forward to it.
Hope all are doing well- I feel like I am!

How in t he world are YOU? I've been worried about you. Hope you are up to mushies by now. Still tired? Don't rush back to work. I took off 3 weeks and was still really tired for the next week after I went back. Does your son start school Aug. 12? I've been trying to get my 14 year old in the habit of going to bed BEFORE midnight! He'll have video and laptop withdrawal because that's all he's done all summer.

Dana, CONGRATULATIONS on your WLS success!!! You look fabulous! I am seldom online these days- life is just too busy. Getting ready to leave now for appointment with Dr. Allen at his new office at Suburban. Good thing I went to downtown support group earlier this month to find out that he has moved. I am getting ready for school, as you can imagine. Teachers first day back is the 11th, but with meetings all next week, I think I can say that after tomorrow, summer break is over! Again, so happy for you and your success!

Great to hear from you. I haven't been to support group all summer. You know how it goes you always have things to do and just find excuses to go "next month" but I have vowed to go back since school is starting and I'll be more structured.
I didn't know Dr. Allen was at Surburban either. I went to Dr. Geller last month but he seemed really pleased so has my GP. I've got that pedometer from Virgin miles and have been walking some but need to get back to the Y.
I start back the 10 and the kids come the next day. We're going into a new school which of course isn't finished. They said we could get in Wed. but I bet we'll be in late Sunday night if we can even get in then. We're not the only school in a mess so it will be interesting to see if they might delay us and another school a week or two so they can finish or we work around the workers. The parents will be fighting mad.
