My husband will soon be having the DS with Dr. Husted and so will I. Mine will be a revision from RNY to a DS. And I am getting very scared after reading about the risks. It would help me if anyone on here had a DS or a DS revision from RNY to reply back and let me know how your surgery went, what it was like in the hospital. i sure would appreciate it, it will help me. Thanks, Pat
Hi Pat, there are so many people who have been revised from RNY to DS over on the DS forum. If you would like to hear from them it would probably be best to post over there. We also just added a new member of our local DS group who was a RNY/DS revision. She was *****y and healthy looking as ever. If you decide to come to support group you might be able to meet her in person.
You might also post this on the revision board, I know there are alot of people who had RNY/DS revisions that hang out over there just waiting for a newbie like you so they can answer your questions.
Of course there are risks, there are risks with any surgery. On the upside you have chosen one of the top two surgeons in the world for revisions and for the DS. You are putting yourself in good hands. It wouldn't make sense if you weren't nervous. Now it's time to do your research and make sure this is what you want to do. Click on the links in my signature line, check out the information on those sites and see if you really want to do this. If you do, you have chosen a great surgeon and are on the right path. Hope to see you soon.

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Hey Pat and Vickie!
Sorry I can't make the meeting tonight. I would love to talk to you Pat. I know i have answered your posts before but can't remember when. Dr. Husted is also my surgeon. I had my revision at the end of May and am doing great with no complications at all. The hospital was remarkable. My nurse even went out to get me popsicles because they didn't have any on the floor. Now you are still in the hospital and not at the Ritz but it is as good as it gets. Hopefully we will be able to chat at the next get together in September. Take care, KB
