I just wanted to stop in and say hello to you guys. I am going in for surgery tomorrow morning at 5:30 a.m. The surgery itself is it 7:30 a.m. I am incredibily nervous and scared, but I am also ready (I think). Y'all have been so wonderful to me since I first arrived on this site two months ago.....it's hard to believe how fast this process has gone for me.

I'm off to write a few letters and hopefully get some sleep.

I should be home from the hospital on Wednesday, if all goes well.

You know that I'm crossing all my fingers and toes for you!  You will be in my thoughts and prayers, too.  Remember that the first few days are rough, but things do get easier with time.   Be patient with yourself and know that you are making a wise decision for your long-term health.

I expect you to call me if you need anything since we're practically neighbors!

Take care, my friend!  {{{Hugs}}} and good surgery vibes to you!

You are making such a good decision.  You won't believe how much better you'll feel and shopping is so much fun.  Lots more energy too.  You are in my prayers and let us know how you are doing.

I had the open Rny and I swear to you, the most painful part of the whole time in the hospital and after was getting an iv.  They numb you so completely and the drugs are so good that you won't know you had anything done at all.  I had the open RNY on a Wednesday and i was out visiting my brother out in the country on a Sunday!  I never felt any pain at all.

Hey everyone. I just got home from the hospital. When they went it, they discovered  had a hiatal hernia so they repaired that, too. Been in a lot of pain.

Was supposed to be home yesterday but stayed an extra day because I was feeling dizzy and lightheaded and feverish Tuesday night. They did a CAT scan last night and it came back negative. I feel better than I have in the past two days, but there is still pain (which is expected). I left my blow thingy in the hospital (the thingy I am supposed to be blowing in every few hours to keep my lungs open. Called back within an hour but they had already gotten rid of it. :-(

I can't seem to get comfortable anywhere. The recliner in the living room seems to be the best bet I tried the bed and although it initiall feels fine, my back and and neck start to hurt.

I just wanted to let y'all know that I am home.
