Dr Moon
Hey everyone! I am new to this board. I had been w/ Dr Sonnastine & thought the world of the giuy. But since his move, have switched to Dr Moon @ St Luke. Any one out there had surgery by Dr Moon & if so/not yet, what did you think? Any problems? Complaints? Kudos? Just looking for some info on him before I go forth with him doing my RYN.

I had Dr Brown, he is part of the same practice as Dr Moon. Don't kniow much about Dr Moon, but I would use Dr brown again in a heart beat. He is a little dry at first but he warms up as you get to know him. More important to me, he was honest, almost to the point of being scary, and he did a great job on my surgery. I have lost 32 lbs in one month post-op(6-18-09) My BMI was 63 and he was still able to do the surgery lap instead of open.
I don't know any one at St. Lukes, so this is just from what I have seen with my own eyes. Apparently Dr. Sonnanstine's patients think the world of him, as do I and am now a patient, but both times I have been in his office in G-town it has been full with patients that have followed him. I don't know the distance he is from St. Lukes now, but I tell you from experience from working in the health care field you have to be one good doctor for that many patients to follow you. Dr. Sonnanstine is only the second doctor I have known that have had this many patients follow them.

FYI TO ALL! Tristate is NOT closing actually they are growing and expanding services! I have heard rumors they are also going to start offering a non surgical approach to weight loss. From what I here if you are doing the surgical weight loss and need diet trial you will be able to do it right there in there office. That is fantastic! I was also told that the signed contracts with the Dr's. I would be willing to bet they are not closin!! I am a patient there and I think the office has come a long way and is still continuing to grow. I love all the staff there and the docs. It sounds like everyone there is pretty excited. So dont give up they are not closing that must of been a misunderstanding cause THEY ARE GROWING!!!!!!!!!!!
~ On a new chapter, starting a new journey~
Dr Smith did my lapband surgery but I have seen both Doctors Moon and Brown, they are awesome. From what I gathered in the office a couple of weeks ago, Tri-state is moving into another suite at the hospital, but it will continue to everything they did before and more. If you want great doctors, you'll get them with Dr Moon and Brown.
