Hi. I didn't have to have a filter put in but I wanted to tell ya, You may want to ask over on the RNY board. Some of  them may have answers for ya.

Good luck on your up coming journey.

I had a filter, they went through my leg and put it somewhere up in my chest area, I didn't have any problems whatsoever, glad I had it done, blood clots ran in the family. couldn't even tell they had done anything. I was fine that evening, good luck and take care!!

I had a filter put in since I had thrown a blot clot in the past.  It was absolutely no big deal.  It was placed in my neck.  No problems no clots.  Don't worry it's not a big deal.
