Update on Augieaxel

I just spoke to one of our KY board members, Augieaxel.  She gave me permission to post this update on her.

She had RNY surgery last Tuesday, June 30.  She had to be readmitted to the hospital yesterday because she was having problems keeping fluids down and hadn't been able to sleep in a bed since she went home.  It turns out that she had both a blockage AND a perforation!  She had additional surgery and is now recovering.  She has an NG tube which her surgeon will not remove until Saturday.  Until then, she is not even allowed to drink anything.  I hope she'll get to go home on Saturday, but I'm not sure of that.

Let's all keep her in our thoughts and prayers.  She is a lovely person and it's a terrible shame that she's suffering so much.

That is terrible, I hope everhing goes well quickly.  I am sorry but I don't recognize that ID..  I jump on this board when I can, I am a member of another and don't get on often.  Please give her our best.

I just got back from visiting her in the hospital.  She is in quite a bit of pain and really thirsty since she's not getting much to drink.  She gets a few ice chips, but that's it.  I will continue to check on her and let you all know how she's doing.

Hellooooo!  Thanks for the kind words and thoughts everyone.  I am sitting in the hospital waiting to be DISCCHARGED!  WOohooooo!  It has been a really, really rough week...but things seem to be improving at a decent rate now.  I get to have thin liquids til Wed, mushy food for a week after that, then I can move to solid foods.  I have to keep my 2 drains in until June 23rd, which bums me out, but oh well....

Talk to ya'll soon!

Excellent news!!!  I was hoping that you'd get to go home today.  I'm so happy that the worst is behind you now.  You are a very strong person to have made it through all of this.  I admire you and look forward to your continued improvement as you regain your strength.

Take care!
