Hey Tammy ... just relax ... everything will go smoothly.  I didn't have to stay overnight.  I got there around 6 am and was home by noon the same day.  I took a couple of things with me, but didn't open my bag once.  Remember wear loose, stretchy clothes and shoes ( i wore flip flops so I wouldn't have to bend over to put my shoes on) so the ride home will be comfortable.  The worse pain I had was when they put my IV in.  Really, I didn't have any pain afterwards.  I was tender but took the pills they prescribed and was fine.  When I got home I slept most of the whole day.  My husband would come in every  hour and wake me up to walk around the house and sip on water.  The staff is great ... you don't have any worries there.

Don't worry.
You will be sore but shouldn't be in really bad pain.
I had RNY and not going to lie..........that morphine pump was best friend the first night.
I took tylenol for a couple of days when I first got home then nothing at all.
Just try to move around and work the sorness out.
I think you should be fine.

Best of luck to you.

I think truly the hardest part was the gas pain from the air they pump into there but if you walk a lot not only does it relieve the pressure but it also keeps you from sitting on the couch or in bed craving food. The other thing I learned from having a different lap surgery(tubes tied) was hold a pillow against you when you sneeze, cough, laugh and get up and down it really does cushion against any pulling on the incision sites.
The only 2 issues I had was after every surgery I have ever had I always have an awful bought of nausea and vomiting from the anesthesia but that's nobodies fault it's just my stomachs reaction and I had the ONq pump in my surgery sites and the bupivacaine/lidocaine/ or what ever that numbing combination is made me itch like crazy but I wasn't worried every time I have ever had dental work done the Novocaine would give me a rash all over the inside of my mouth and on my cheeks and the front of my mouth so I kinda knew what to expect. My mom does the same. I asked the dentist and he said it is not a life threatening reaction there are many people sensitive to those drugs and back last year my daughter had her last baby tooth pulled same thing happened to her.

Not sure how your Dr does things, but I also get extremely sick with anesthetia and advised them of this. I had one bout of vomiting with the first surgery...nothing major at all. And then when I did the revision on my port I had none at all! They have all kinds of things to keep ya from it...just ask the anethetiaologist when you talk to him in pre-op!
