there are risks with every surgery, but there are the same risks to remain obese.
Trust your instict, if you feel good about yourself going through surgery and are pumped about the results............then go for it!
It is an amazing journey...................not always easy, but sooooooo worth it.
Discuss your concerns with your wl team and they can offer the reassurance that you may need.

good luck

Shannon I think that Leslie summed up my feelings really well.
I had one thought to your screen name after surgery you should change it from Lottie303 to HottieLottie... he hehe!

Good luck on your journey and honestly I would be worried about you if you hadn't stop to take stock in your decision.

I am also scheduled for surgery on July 17th, only I am having gastric bypass. I have gone through all the emotions and I continue to go through them. One minute I am excited and happy, the next minute I am scared. As a single mom, I am terrified of leaving my son alone. But I try to get those thoughts out of my head as soon as they enter....because I really believe that this surgery will prolong my life and make me much healthier for both my son and I.

Good luck on everything!

Thanks for your reply!!  You know I don't have alot of things wrong with me but I do have high blood pressure and sleep apnea and I think my blood sugar is at boarder line of becoming a diabetic but I am not a diabetic tho......I just don't want to be selfish, you know what I mean and think I want to be skinny...I mean I want to be healthy too, but I want to be small also....I just got to stay positive and not make myself feel guilty or scared...Just feel good at what is about to take place.....Thanks again and God Bless You!!!

Lottie, don't know much about the switch but I hope all goes well for you.  Most of us were afraid of the possible complication when having wls but most of us turned out ok.  Praying you do too.  Z

Hi Shannon,

I just wanted to say you're in the best hands with Dr. Husted. He's amazing! He is the only doc I'd trust to do my revision. As far as your CC- I think he does that to custom fit you. It will vary on the amount of weight you need to lose. Not sure about what size he makes your stomach though, it's something like 1/3 or 1/4 of its normal size. You've picked the surgery with the highest percentages of EWL, you're doing it right the first time (unlike me). If (God forbid) something goes wrong you're in great hands. I could brag all day about him but I think you know. The people over on the DS board will also be a big help.

Good luck!
Katrina
