Firs****er Park Experience as a Non-Obese Person

Went to Dollywood's Splash Country Water Park this past Saturday.  Of course self-conscious about how I looked in a bathing suit .........but, It was a WONDERFUL experience.

I got over a lot of my insecurities, and could ride any slide there..............although I found myself checking the weight limits first then it hit me..............I'm not obese anymore and it feels great to know that I don't have any limits (weight wise) when it comes to having fun and playing like a kid again!

Hopefully the beach next month will prove to be as good as this past weekend.

That is awesome Leslie-
The beach will rock, NO you will rock the beach!
I was thinking about a waterpark we go to here. it is a little one, but I am 60+ pounds lighter than last year when I went.  Then I thought about the times at Great Wolf.  I know when we go for Hunter's Birthday this year will be soo much better than last year.  I am no where near where you are but you give me such inspiration. I look forward to the fun...and your post shows me that again

Good for you!  I used to love the water - and I still would if I could do it without embarrassment.  I think public swimming for me is out of the question for now - I may do the YMCA but not a water park.  It's mostly because of my arms - they're worse than any I've ever seen online or on any of the plastic surgery shows I've ever seen on TV.    I don't want people to get sick looking at them - they're really lumpy and hangydown like multiple punching bags.  Someday I'll take a picture and let you guys see what they have become (they weren't great before, but now they hang down more).  My belly I can deal with - spandex is goodand everyone expects middle aged women to cover their tummies anyway!  But the arms can't really be covered.  Unless I throw a 3/4 length sleeved  shirt over my swimsuit.  I wonder if they make those aerodynamic swim suits - the racing ones that cover from neck to wrist to ankle for big people like me?  They're supposed to hold everything in nice and tight.  Tugging  everything in place  would probably be impossible though - I've heard even the Olympic athletes had a hard time tugging those things on!  Spanx for swimming?  lol
