Kentucky friends we need more posting here!
I'm glad you liked the movie "UP" too - I loved it!
You've got a great attitude toward your upcoming surgery - I wish I had been that focused - I was indulging a lot before my surgery - thinking I'd never be able to eat again. I was wrong - it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Now I look at other people filling their plates overly full at the buffett and think to myself - how can they eat all that? lol I guess people have been thinking that about me for years, but it just seemed "normal" to me. Now I feel like I'm the "new normal" - well at least my eating urges seem more "normal" now.
Good luck on that important test - I'm sure you 'll do great!
Hugs,
Cindy

Hey everyone :)
I also have a bit of an update. I met with Dr. Geller last week and I had my assessment done at the Bariatric Center this week. They are going to submit to insurance this week and hopefully, I will hear back within 5-7 days. So maybe sometime next week....? I am hoping to have the surgery done in mid-July and as long as the insurance approves it, that is a good possibility.
I would love to connect with many of you during this process, especially those of you who are Dr. Geller's patients. I tried to "friend" several of you, but your profiles are private. Please send me a friend request if you are interested.
I am getting more nervous about this each day. I know this is something that I want, but I am also scared, too. I sure hope that the nerves and fear will subside soon.

I was happy to "friend" you today! I would tell you to just relax, but I know that's not possible! It's exciting while nerve wracking, I remember. Now that it's over I can say just relax, it'll all be alright. This wasn't my first surgery so I wasn't afraid of being put under general anesthesia or the pain afterwards because I had survived the other ones and knew pain meds were a great help. The first week is always the hardest (for me) but with the help of family members and pain meds it is worth it all. We are adaptable people and it's worth the initial but short term pain to get to this other life we all want.
I am a Dr. Shina fan, but I'm sure Dr. Geller is great too. Good luck to you - hang in there!
