Scheduled for an emergency EGD this afternoon!

Well, my surgeon is responsive to say the least!  He may not be the best at giving me the dietary support I need (that's what the NUT's are for right?) but he's the best surgeon I know of!

I called their office yesterday afternoon complaining of severe acute heartburn and they penciled me in for next week.  Last night though, I spit up foamy saliva tinged with blood so with a morning call to them by me they called back with an EGD appointment for 1pm!!

The thought is that I may have an ulcer.  Not that I want an ulcer but since I'm self-pay this one "could" be construed as non-band related and able to be covered by insurance.

I could use a few prayers and good vibes though that an ulcer is all that it is and I'm not dealing with anything more!  Slips and erosions just aren't an option!!

I think I'll end up with a complete unfill so they can do the scope.....am I right??

Oh yeah......A HUGE thank you to Dawn for taking me today since Rich is out of town already!!  I am blessed!

Gastritis in the upper pouch with a raw and inflammed area where a pill likely sat slowly disolving and started the whole mess! 

He took out .3cc bring me back down to 3.6cc in a 4cc band and told me to double my daily zantac dosage.  He said I can keep my daily NSAID dosage for my arthritis!!  Yeah!  I was really dreading but prepared to give that up.

He did say my band looked fine!!!

I'm on clear fluids for the rest of the day and am going to go take a nap and let the versed finish wearing off.

Thanks to everyone for thier prayers and positive vibes!  I think they really did the trick!

Wow, I am glad all went well and you will be fine.  That is scary when things happen.

Becka, wow!!!!  I am so glad things went okay and it was an easy/quick fix.   Be careful with tose NSAIDS and those solid pills....we don't want you out of comssion any more!

Had to come over to this forum to find the final verdict on you.  I hope you can get down something cold since it was so hot today.  You can't feel bad right before a holiday weekend.

 Gosh, I'm so sorry you have had this trouble!  I've been out of the loop about what's going on, but I sure wish you the best and will pray for your quick recovery.
