Does anyone know the complication and mortality rate with him?  I am going to be speaking with someone in the office today hopefully, but I just wanted to know now instead of later...lol....Thanks

You didn't mention which surgery you were thinking about, but it all depends on the procedure, Lottie.  But you must know that by now, since you have had the opportunity to talk with his office.  I attended one of Dr. Husted's seminars and seem to remember that his complication and mortality numbers are very low compared to the national average.

He is a top notch and innovative surgeon who follows up with his patients, unlike some other surgeons in KY who never see us again unless we have a problem.  To paraphrase what he said, his take on seeing us for aftercare goes something along the lines of: How are we surgeons supposed to know how well the procedures work if we don't follow through and see the patients?

It is a big surprise and disappointment to many of us to find that we might never see our docs again.. not even for the first post-op appointment.  I know that fact makes some people complain that they are just in it for the money and don't really care how we do later.

I don't think you can go wrong having your procedure with Dr. Husted.
