Looking for Motivation

Where has my motivation gone?
I am trying to get back on track with my walking and exercising.   Maybe I should get back in the habit of doing my daily accountability.
I did go for a walk yesterday evening and it felt great.   I am trying to remind myself of that when I start making excuses of not having the time, etc.

Where does everyone find their motivation?  What do you do when you get lazy and dont' want to move?

Leslie - I have NEVER found the motivation so I want to read what everybody tells you on how to get it.  I'm getting flabbier all the time.

The only way I have ever found to be motivated to work out regularly is to make an appointment of some kind I'm good at showing up for those because I feel guilty if I dont. I recently joined an excercise class 3 days a week at 6:00 at a local church. I like knowing that they will be expecting me to be there it helps me get off my butt and go!
Maybe you should make a date to work out with a friend. Also this is a little silly but I bought some of those gold star stickers they use for kids homework and everytime I work out I put one on my calendar. It gives a nice visual representation of your accomplishments. hope this helps I too would love some motivational tips, you can never have too many!

Thank you for your suggestions!  The sticker idea might work for me.  I don't have any friends nearby who aren't busy with work, family, husbands, etc.  But I might like the stickers - I used to use those for my special ed students when I was still teaching and they liked them!  LOL

Leslie when you find out how to get motivated, let me know, I am in a slump and cannot just get out of it, I seem to be on the road every day doing something or taking someone somewhere and it seems like I just stay tired!!

Oh Leslie, Sorry!!!!
But I can definately say from my experience it COMES IN CYCLES!!!! Some weeks I've got it and some I can't seem to find an ounce!!!!!
Getting out and doing your exercise should help ... I definately understand being in a slump.... I'm just getting myself out of one.!!

Guess we all have our moments. I have walked every evening for the past 3 days. My motto now is the old Nike one - JUST DO IT! It has served as a good stress release and I think if I get back to it, I'll stick with it..........for a while anyways! LoL

I do not know if this helps you but you are a real inspiration, slow times, go gett em times and all times.
I know you will find your stride again.
Right now I am trying to just remind my self to move and I will feel better.  Maybe like you said if you move you feel better. Some of my motivation comes from looking at my son too.

Well, whatever works for you....I KNOW you will get back to it.

take care
