lettuce, spinach, salads, etc.

I have been eating more fresh veggies like lettuce, spinach, etc. than I thought I would be able to consume comfortably.  I make sure to get my protein in first and chew the fresh greens, carrots, etc. really well before swallowing.  I love getting that crunchy, watery food - but is it bad that I can eat so much of it or am I chewing it so much that it is turning into a liquid and sliding through?  Any others out there who are finding salads easy to eat?

I don't want to stretch my pouch too much, but I think getting my salads in is a good thing?

Wish I could help but I'm not an RNY patient.. I'm sure someone will chime in soon!!!

I think it's a good thing to get some veggies in... I know that I do not do well in that department!

Cindy; I am a bandster, however I can do the same thing.  Salads seem to slide right through the band and I can eat A LOT of them.  I don't eat a ton of salads so I don't worry about it when I do eat them.  As long as you aren't eating past your comfort level and you are stopping when you begin to feel the signs of "full" or "done" I don't think there is any worry about stretching your pouch.  Some days I can eat everything I see and some days I am full thinking just by thinking about food.
