what have you accomplished?
you made me think about we went to a fair the first time in 20 years i had got on a ride, the bar would not come down enough to hold me in the seat i kept sliding out of the ride, that had never happened before.cant wait to ride my horse this year and not having to climb on something to hop on its back so the saddle would not fall off from all my weight.and it was so nice to buy a bathing suit in a size 6 instead of a 22.
Wow, what haven't I accomplished???? That would be the faster question to answer. What can I say; not only am I comfortable in my bike spandex, I am also willing to post a pic on the internet in spandex! LOL
I am leading group rides of 40+ miles each Sunday and I am riding with some of the stronger riders in the Cincinnati region. I have a goal of 2500 miles before Nov 1 and at least 5 century rides....I think I will make it! I love cycling again and I love being around the group of people I have missed so much. Even though I could cycle when I was heavy I was too self conscious and too slow to hang with the Cincinnati Cycle CLub riders (my issue; not theirs). I cycle to and from work many days and I am more committed to the green life I have tried to live for so many years. I like life, I love the outdoors and I have a new lease on my faith and my beliefs. I am so much more a positive and happy person that I have strived to be for years....but let my self esteem destroy when I wasn't happy with me.
Happy with me means so much...and when you are happy with "you", people want to be around you; your happiness becomes infectious and life is so enjoyable. Even the big stressors seem manageable when you enjoy life.
Strength and perserverance to all who udertake this journey and just like riding a bike....if you fall; dust yourself off and get back up. The wind and the sun are waiting.
