Antidepressants

Does anyone know how antidepressants will affect gastric bypass patients? I am almost 2 years out and doing great. My doc would like to put me on some, because of issues not related to the surgery. What would be the best kind to take without weight gain and sexual side affects?

I have no idea about sexual side affects - maybe that's why I'm so moody.  I've been widowed for 7 1/2 years now and I've almost forgotten what sex is.  :-(   But I take Lexapro and Cymbalta for depression and anxiety and have had no problems with any meds and my pouch in the 4 months since my surgery.

Good luck!

I took Cymbalta (it is a weight possitive med). Dr. Sonnanstine instructed my other doc to put me on a weight negative med which is Wellbutrin.  I don't have any problem with the sexual side effects  my hubby said I have been in overdrive since we married 24 years ago.  He likes the break...he is older (by 3 years).
