Summer Slimmers Challenge!
Most barriers to your success are man-made. And, most often, you're the man who made them. ~ Frank Tyger

I'm married to Nate, who is an Operations Manager for Amazon.com here in Campbellsville. I have two children, My daughter Serena is 9 and my son Davin is 6. My husband and I have been married for ummm let me think....will be 11 years this may... I'm a stay at home mom, but I do have a little girls boutique business where I make hair bows and little girls jewelry.. I sell online on Etsy, but mostly do craft fairs around the local area. I've really enjoyed getting to know some of the members on the board. They have been such a support system for me. I love getting to go to Support groups and other gatherings and meet them. I've made some invaluable friends, that I will cherish for a lifetime.
Thats me in a nut shell!

I am married 18 1/2 years to my very dear Hubby Steve and we have one son, Hunter who is the apple of our eyes and 10 years old. I am as my name states a prek teacher. My DH is a computer wizzard and self professed GEEK (he is better than the geek squad- honestly). My son and hubby are gamers and I am not. I love my family and family time. I care more about the people in my life than the things. We have one dog and an old and amazing cat...we have lost 2 kitties in the past two years as they were all old. I love to walk and exercise...now that the weight is coming off it is getting so much easier. I miss my home town of San Francisco and try to get home every summer for 5 weeks. We are retired military and I am greatful to the military for the opportunity to get my surgery!!! In all I can be summed up as a glass 1/2 full kinda gal.
I am so thankful for the people I have met here who have supported me and befriended me!!!
I'm a bandster who is closing in on her 18th month of success. I have lost 80 pounds depending on the day and 4 dress sizes. I have 20-ish more pounds to lose to get to goal and then it's time to start seriously looking into plastic surgery.
I am stay-at-home mommy or as I like to refer to it, Director of Home Operations. I am also my hubby's part time "office girl" with his business. In my previous life, before I opted for early retirement, I was a master's level social worker working in the field of mental retardation and developmental disabilities. We have one daughter who is 6 going on 16! She is completely and totally spoiled but in a good way! We have 2 dogs, 2 cats and hubby just gave me the nod to get the girlie a guinea pig (yikes!)
Hubby's name is Richard and he is banded as well He just had his one year bandiversary on 4/17 and is 60 pounds down himself with about 15 pounds to go to get to his goal. Life feels like it has started all over again! We can play with and chase our girlie down when needed! We feel better about ourselves and our future.
Oh yeah, my mom and dad are both banded as well and my sis has had RNY. Unfortunately, we still don't get the frequent flyer discount with our bariatric group!
Nice to get to know you all and let's all of us try to break through this "Us and Them" thing we seem to have developed on this board!

I have 2 dogs and 7 cats. And they are part of the family too. I do some secretarial work for my church. My son works for the water company, runs his own mowing business and he's on our volunteer fire department. I mow 3 yards for him every week while he's at work. I do zumba or run 5 or 6 days a week.
Laura
Hi everyone my name is Vicki
I am 44 years old and live in LaGrange, KY. I am married to my childhood friend Scott. I have three boys of my own 24, 16 and 11, he has a girl 25 and a boy 23, we have no children together but a boston terrier named Dizzy and two cats. I do plan on getting chickens but we're just not there yet. I had the DS a year ago this month in Indianapolis with Dr. Margaret Inman and it has changed my life and given me back that 20% she talked about in her seminar. I went to EKU and focused on sculpture and painting and am working at being a real full time artist although real full time mom usually takes over. I spend most of my time running, cooking, cleaning and really only carve a few hours a week out for myself in the studio. Hoping that will change once school is out. I am a recent convert to exercising. I was raised that girls did not sweat, we glow and I still am a little bit of a southern diva in attitude but working on that. If only they made cute workout shoes. Oh, well my husband is a project management for a commercial constructon company and is the love of my life. I'm just sorry it took me two other husband's to find that out. Other than painting I also love to scrapbook with my friends and shop. I have lost 85 lbs thereabouts and would love to lose another 30-35 lbs - we'll see - I am still grateful the 85 is gone! I love the friends I have made here on OH I know that some of them are friends I will keep the rest of my life. I'm grateful OH for having this place to come - not just when times are bad and I need support but for when times are good and I can be encouraging.

I had RNY 8/07 and have lost almost 150 lbs. I still have a ways to go till I make goal (according to Dr. Shina) so I am plugging along daily. I try to work daily to make good choices. I love to work out but since I took on the part time job it has been increasingly difficult to find time. This was the best possible choice for me and my family. Everyone asks if I have more energy now and for me it isn't different. I was always very active before so it seems to be the same.
I have made some good friends on this board. Everyone is very supportive and I have had nothing but good experiences. I hope that everyone can find the support that I have found.
My husband is retired Army and we lived in south GA before moving to northern VA 5 yrs ago. We both work in downtown DC for govt and I can't believe we have a 28 mile commute one way - who would've thought?
Thanks to all for sharing...I appreciate the support group and believe we are all winners no matter how much or little we lose!
Tag YOU are it!
