I gotta agree with her Cindy!  Most people are too busy looking at themselves and worrying about themselves. Be proud that you are doing this and your journey is rockin right along! I think its great. i love the 2 pc suits as well! You can mix and match sizes alot better!  I live in my pool every summer! I am in it the minute I get home until the sun goes down. On the weekends I have stayed in late into the night. The mosquitos chase me out!  I may be setting mine up this weekend!

I think the 2 piece suits sound wonderful.  The last time I went swimming I remember how hard it was to pull the entire wet suit down and then back up when it was time for a potty break!  lol  The 2 pieces will make that lots easier.

If I had a pool in my backyard I'd be just like you - I used to dream of having a pool.  I hope your mosquitoes stay away!  Enjoy!

The doctor wants me to do water arobeics but we have no indoor pools anywhere and we lost our pool due to hurricane ike,so im like what now i wont go to a public pool ,so my friend on the corner has an inground pool that her and her hubby dont use often so she offered for me and the boys to use it so i know i can get by with shorts and a tshirt..
I would try a 2 peice and try women within or fashion bug online.
Good luck sweetie

Thanks - my doc has been telling me water aerobics ever since 4 weeks out from surgery and I haven't gone yet.  I know this weight will not keep falling off - eventually I will have to develop some muscles and get my metabolism reved up or I'll never make it to goal weight.

Your neighbor sounds like a great friend to let you use her pool!  That's really nice!

I am shopping online tonight - will put things in the virtual shopping bag and on payday I'm gonna buy!  :-)

I'm not up on all the new exercise equipment now - I haven't heard of a gazelle except the animal kind!  LOL  I'll have to check the HSN website and look it up.  I have rotten knees (no cartilage) and need knee replacements when I get my weight down, so there are some types of equipment that just aren't for me.  I have a recumbent bike parked in my living room that mostly collects dust, but I am trying to remember to get on it more often.  It doesn't do anything for my arms, but it is great for my legs.

Thanks!

Cindy,
I am 44 years old, been heavy since I was 15, and I love to swim, and I haven't ever let anyone or anything stop me from something I love, don't worry about what other people thinks, I bet they are close to someone heavy or related, one way or the other!! shoot a couple years ago I went to Dollywood to the splash country park , and played until a t-storm made us leave, lol, I had a ball and don't care what others think!!!
and the arm and leg thing, wow, my hips are also like deflated balloons, and my arms now, well lets just say, when I have on a sleeveless shirt, my niece and nephew that is young, plays with the excess skin, wiggling it back and forth, and it does't bother me, but I do notice, I am trying to find shirts for the summer with longer sleeves, like to the elbow, and longer shorts, but the pool thing we are there to have fun, so enjoy yourself and hold your head up high!!!

Thank you Lisa!  Guess what I did today - I was in Bowling Green and I tried on swim suits at Fashion Bug!  I ended up buying one that really didn't support my boobs right (I need an underwire probably) and everything shows that I wish didn't show, but it's going to be ok for swimming at the Y.  All the encouragement from you guys made me enthusiastic about getting a suit - and they were $10 off!  lol

I got a skirtini - the top has molded cups and the bottom is a skirt with attached panty.  I liked the length of the skirt - it covered the worst of my upper thighs.  I will probably wear a tshirt over the to*****t - depending on who's in the pool when I get there!  I am looking forward to getting in the pool and feeling that weightless effect again - it's been a long time.

I am glad I'm 54 and not 24 - it's kinda funny in a way to have such weird saggy skin.  But then when I get to goal weight I will be one of those who pursue plastic surgery I bet.  If only to help my clothes fit better I will need those upper arms taken care of.  Dr. Shina said I would probably want a tummy tuck - I think I'll need a boob lift and arm work too.  And then I'll be just fine!  :-)

I feel so much better - it is all worth it.    Thanks for your encouragement!

I started with 2-tshirts (unless they were navy or black) and pair of men's shorts. Took some deep breaths and went to the local YMCA. Only way I can exercise and stopped when we moved to DC 5 yrs ago. I did go to Disney World last year and went down a winding water slide for the first time in my life! Still self conscious but decided I'd never see any of those people again and my grandbabies will remember it forever! HA!
