I am very sorry to hear about your children's father. I know that they are struggling right now and I am vey sorry for that. I know in my heart you are doing all you can to take care of them. As you do please remember to take care of you too- so you can be the best for all of you!
I will add you to our prayer list at devotions tomorrow.

you and your children are in my prayers Missy - so sad for you all, please let us know if there is anything we can do for you
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Missy,
I feel more terrible than words can say. If he was an ex people may expect you not to grieve but besides helping your children through the grieving process you should also take time to heal you will definitely be in my prayers. I have a 12 yr old and am lucky enough to have a great relationship between myself, my daughter and my current husband .
I will be thinking of you and your family. HUGS and PRAYERS

You and your family are in my prayers today. I can identify with you - my children were barely 11 and almost 13 when my husband and their dad died of heart attack. (Dec 2001) I was more concerned about them than about myself because their dad was a very hands on dad. He had put pony tails in their hair, taken them to day care, he had done everything but trim their toenails and fingernails - and how we miss him. Now my girls are 18 and 20 and they have done wonderfully. The youngest daughter grieved for him the most - she writes songs and poetry sometimes to express her love and how she misses her dad. The oldest is less emotional - she keeps it inside i think but both have done great in school and are going to college.
Children are more resilient than I would have dreamed - I hope your children will be too. We talk about "Daddy" as often as I can work him into the conversation so they will remember funny things he used to say, things he believed in and his hopes for their future. When they're as young as your youngest child it's really important for them to have pictures of their daddy so they don't forget what he looked like - my youngest expressed that to me at one point and I made sure she had her own picture of her dad that she could keep in her bedroom. My oldest asks me questions sometimes like, "What would Daddy have thought about this or that?" when it comes to social issues, politics, etc.
I hope you and your family will be able to draw closer together to get through the next several years - it sometimes gets worse before it gets better.
Hugs,
Cindy
