OK, I am doing well getting in the 2 multi's and the 4 calcium.  Now I have to add B, but I think I get that too. So, the question is WHERE THE HECK to put the iron??
I know that can go near ___________ or ______________ and do well when taken with_______.  But, does anyone have an idea of how to do it?

Any advice would be appreciated
THANKS  teach/sol

If you ask the pharmacist they will tell you where to fit them all in and what you can mix that won't give you an upset stomache or constipation cause iron is sooo notorious for that. They can also make sure that your not taking a vitamin to close to a daily med like blood pressure, diabetes meds etc.

I take prenatals instead of multi so that I get in my iron and other minerals as well as the vitamins all in one pill. I take it with carnation instant breakfast in the am...protein in first thing in am too that way!

Hey Sol,

My prenatals that I take have the iron that I need. Maybe Dr. Shina would approve something like this for you as well. You may want to call the office and just ask them.

Sorry.

Dr. Shina's instructions to me were to take prenatal vitamins twice daily , calcium twice daily and extra vitamin D twice daily.  (If I remember correctly)  The hardest part for me is to make sure I wait at least 2 hours between the prenatal vitamin and the calcium because something in them can cancel the other out (or something like that)?  I sure use my watch a lot more now than I did - gotta time the liquids vs. the foods (30 min to an hour separating them).   The prenatal vitamin contains the iron I need, but then again I'm past my menstruating years.  If you still get periods maybe you should add additional iron?

If I've got this wrong I hope someone corrects me - My hair has begun falling out - thankfully I have a thick head of hair, but if I keep this up I may not have thick hair anymore!

Hugs,
Cindy

Hey Teach,  take your iron at lunch time with your vitamin c.  c helps your body absorb the iron better,  and do not take it with a protein shake,  it keeps it from being absorbed.
i take a b12 shot monthly,  or you can take sublinglual b12 (they are little dots of b12 you put under your tongue and they dissolve)  about 2 or 3 times a week .  you can get the b12 at vitamin shop.com  if you can't find them local.
Biotin, which is a B vitamin seems to help me with the hair loss,    I take 3000 mcg of Biotin daily and I also use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner.
So glad all is going well for you, take care and keep up the great work
