pregnancy after bypass
Congratulations!!!! :D
Here is my take on the vitamin situation:
I was once taking prenatals after surgery myself. For the longest time I was only taking 2 a day, one in the morning, one at night. After I got to looking at the bottle I realized the serving suggestion was 2 per day, so I doubled it, especially since certain parts of our intestines are forever bypassed and will never absorb certain vitamins the same. Since now you are not only keeping yourself nutritionally sound, but also your baby I would go ahead and take them both. It cannot hurt, that's for sure. Also a piece of advice with prenatals- they can cause constipation, so make sure to up your fluid intake. (TMI, sorry)
I hope this helps.
Congratulations to you!
Katrina

Congratulations!!! that is such wonderful news. I would think your surgeon would be the best one to answer this question. I sat in a class with Dr. Sonnanstine over at the Hilton last year when he talked about this. He said he would follow you through your pregnancy and help with those issues. I would call him and let him know.
Again Congratulations!!!!
Again Congratulations!!!!
Hey there Tiffany, that is wonderful news. A baby, I love babies...my twin granddaughters could be here some time in May, she is actually due in June. that makes 4 grandbabies for me under the age of two..wow it will be fun at my house come Christmas..lol
I would definately contact Dr. Tom...he does like to follow his patients during their pregnancy with blood work and I think because he loves to see the glow of a new mommy..after all this is one of the reasons he loves what he does.
congrats a gain..keep us updated the next few months..
