Did they mention to you the first date Dr S starts to do surgery?  I dropped off my medical records on Wednesday, April 2.  They mentioned he was hoping to begin April 13th.  I was also hoping to get in before the end of April.

Congratulations!!

I am so excited for you.  I went for my 1st all day appt. on the 27th of March, I do have H Pylori and now am on med's for it.  Hopefully I won't be much longer before I get a surgery date.  How long did it take for the 2nd all day appt?

I had all my testing etc done at St. Luke.  I went through all the classes there.  All I was waiting for was a date and he left early to take the position at Georgetown.  But because I have such faith in his ability as a surgeon I picked up my records and sent them fedex to Gtown the same week he left St. Luke.  I had my initial consult with him then did all the above stuff.  I went down for my first appt. with him yesterday.  I go back 4/21 for a pre-op class, to see an internal medicine doctor, to do blood work ,and sign all the surgery papers.  That she said would take roughly 4 hours.  I see you are from Harlan?  Do you still live there?  I was born and raised there.....I moved to Cincy in 1978 I am a little older than you though  48.  Keep in touch.....Hugs... I too had all my testing performed at St Luke.  I had went to seminars for other programs but came back to Dr. Sonnastine.  I felt so comfortable with him from the beginning.  When I requested my medical records from St Luke there must have been 20 names before mine and 15 names after it.  I think he has quite a following.  I knew he was leaving for Georgetown some time ago when his original date to leave was July 1.  I thought by July 1 I'll be well on my way, have the surgery over and be well on my way to the loser bench.  But then the end of February came (when he left St Luke).  It was then I decided to request my medical records and follow him to Georgetown.

Maybe when we're both ready for fills we could carpool to Georgetown.  Road Trip!!!

P.S. My mother's family is from Harlan, KY - Town called Cawood.  Her brothers and sisters still live there.

I went to Cawood H. S.  I probably have distant relatives down there but I haven't been down there in years since my granny moved to Florida with my mother.  I am having the bypass not the lap band but Road Trips are always fun!!!!  Are you just waiting for a surgery date?  Do you have all your records down there etc? I have to go again 4/21 for all my pre-op stuff.  I am just relieved I FINALLY have a date....I thought for sure the insurance would be the huge hold up but that took 6 days.  First I failed my stress test (delay) fixed that then he moved early (delay) then my husband has classes 2 weeks in mid April (delay)....I was starting to think I wasn't meant to have the surgery.....but I have worked too hard and been through too much to stop now....I just want it over and I want to move on with the rest of my healthy life......Hugs....Donna
