WOW Morning!!!!
Today I rode my bike to work. Not that that is any big achievement, I did it for most of last year when the weather was decent...however...this time I made the 12 mile trip in about 40 minutes on a commuter/hybrid bike and my butt BONES were sore (not my butt....but the BONES were sore) because I lost my padding! Now, going home will be a whole other story as the ride home is uphill and usually takes me about 1-1 1/2 hours depending on traffic. I also have to take a different route due to traffic so it is more like 15 miles.
But anyways.....what I really wanted to share was how wonderful a ride it was. 45 degrees, so not warm enough to really get a stink going, and as I came over the crest of the Dixie Highway Hill; at the highest point above downtown Cincinnati in NKY, the sun was beginning to rise in front of me over the horizon and the pinks, and blues, and grays and purples and yellows were AMAZING! How many of you really look at that while you are driving???? Huh? Coming down that hill with the city skyline, and the sunrise and the crisp morning air....there is nothing more exhilarating and more peaceful to me in the WORLD!
I am officially at my lowest bike riding weight EVER and I know I need to get more gear cause I am feeling how wonderful it is to oxygenate less fat and breath better without carrying the weight!
YEE HAH!!!!

WTG!! I was looking at bikes today at the store.
I took a spin class at the gym and my bottom hurt for a week. OMG the padding was gone and the bones were not used to that kind of pressure.
The skyline of Cincy is really pretty. I smile everytime I go through the cut in the hill.

Sherry, I LOVE spinning classes and I promise, after the 3rd one your rear won't hurt anymore (I think it just goes numb and you lose all feeling in the nether regions). I so enjoy my ride to work and the morning view...especially in a few weeks with the lavendar and lilac bushes blooming and the smells. Dixie Highway is a blast to go down and a challenge to go up! At least on my way to work (FLorence to downtown) I have enough downhills that I don't get real sweaty; and what I do....a container of baby wipes takes care of when I get to work! :o)
Uhhhhhh....Kelly darlin' that was WITH the padded bike shorts! A hybrid bike is a bike frame that can be a mountain bike or a road bike depending on what type of tires you put on it. Road bikes usually have very light and firm frames for speed, moutain bikes have very heavy; durable and flexible frames for off-roading; Hybrid bikes are kind of the middle of the road; the frames are heavier and durable but no shocks or knobby tires. You can't ride as fast on a hybrid but they are good for commuting because they are more durable and less expensive to repair than a road bike.
I have a hybrid commuter and a road bike; but I don't like to ride my road bike to work because of where I work (scary part of town), and the road debris pops the thin tires of road bikes very easily.
Never knew there were so many kinds of bikes did ya'? :o)

When I was staying in Newport at the Comfort Suites for 3 month at night looking out my window up the hills in KY was beautiful at night especially if there were thunderstorms. Sometimes they would put me on the Ohio side and had the view of the Ohio River and the Cincy Skyline... I miss working in Cincy..... But glad to hear you had a wonderful ride

hmmm don't know if I would be brave enough to ride from Florence to Cincy! There are too many really crazy morning drivers!
One of my daughters drives from Independence to Tricounty everyday.... ugh... Hubby will be making the same commute starting next week. At least in a car they have alittle protection.
Think I will stick to neighborhood rides and maybe the park LOL
