Insurance headquarters out of Kentucky..Hello..My name is Candace and I live in NC. My insurance is Anthem BCBS KY..Can anyone tell me if you have them and how did they respond to your request for surgery..I'm wanting to have RNY. I know it covers 100% no deductible No copay...I just need the approval. I go to Nut and Nutritionist this week and surgeon will send my info soon...The thought of being denied scares me. I have a BMI of 38..Diabetic, high blood pressure, cholesterol, I've been on a supervised diet (logging my food) for a couple months now..My pcp totally supports me. Please someone tell me it will be OK.

Hi Candace, I work for BCBS in downtown Cincy and have the BCBS policy from KY.  You just have to meet their criteria.  Log on to anthem.com and review their policy and make sure you follow it to a tee.  Many policies differ (mine only covered 80%) and that is dependant on your employers choice when they open up the policy for employees.  Just make sure you adhere to their requirements and have the required documentation (physician and yours).
