Sorry Dawn,
I can't really help. For me it has always been just trial and error. I didn't eat anything with sugar for probably about 6 months or so then I just started trying stuff. Now when I eat something with too much sugar I don't throw up but I get extremely, extremely sleepy and just have to sleep it off. It's weird.
Hope someone else can give you more help.

As for myself, I can tolerate some sugars. Example, I can eat cake, cookies, candy all day long but real fruit makes my glucose skyrocket as soon as I eat it. I jokingly call strawberries 'sleeping pills'. 2 strawberries and Im out!
As for Frankie my husband, he can eat fruit, cookies, etc but he cannot tolerate caramel or toffee. Basically anything that is pure sugar so to speak. He breaks out in sweats & his heart races and so on. And it only takes a tiny bit.
Its different for everyone but I would just make sure that is she does eat anything sugary...BEWARE and only do it in small, small amounts.
Anything carby (pasta, bread) may have the potential to have the same effect so its not just sweets.
I am wishing that the upcoming days get easier for her Dawn. And Im sure youre exhausted as well.
Take care

Well at least she is still with you all. Sounds like this is going to be a mess for a while or least until she can get into a routine and can get around for herself.
Back to the food issue, I would watch out for carrots & corn...big sugar in those too. Sounds like its gonna be babysteps for a while.
Whatever its worth, Im here for Dawn if ya need a shoulder or an ear....ok?

Her and I have been butting heads, so im currently on hiatus, figured it would be better that way but I guess tommorrow my break is over.. I just hate it for her..

Hope things go better for her soon.
As a general rule...........she should not go over 5 g of sugar or 15 g of carbs at one time for the first few months to help prevent dumping.
And - then after that.........it is going to be trial and error!
Remind her that IT WILL GET EASIER AND BETTER and IT IS GOING TO BE WORTH IT!
Keep us posted on how she is doing. I am not on here as often but I love to play catch up and read the posts when I do get on.
