OT Long Day

Just got home...my daughter's HS band does a fund raising activity each year for the marching band.  Today was the Lane's End Stakes Race at Turfway Park (kind of the precursor to the KY Derby....most years the horse that wins the Lane's End wins the KY Derby as the tracks are similar and race conditions as well).  Anyway, the parent's/families/friends have an opportunity to wait tables in the Maker's Mark VIP tent.  You "earn" a 100$ for the work and that 100$ goes to your kid's band fund for school fees.  You also earn tips-you get to keep the tips (it does not go towards the band fund).  The day starts at 8:30 and goes until 8:00 PM.  You wait table of 10 people each and this year we were so short staffed I had to wait 8 tables (80 people).  Drinks, food, appetizers and desserts.  The people who come for the VIP tent pay 175$ a person for the event so they expect  prime service!  My feet hurt, my back hurts, my hips hurt, my knees hurt...I feel old!  And because we were so short I had no break, no food and no water since 8 am (poor me).
Guess I can't gripe too bad though....I made 535$ in tips!!!!!!

Well, $535 not to shabby for a long days work, right?  Imagine doing it that long under these conditions 100 pounds heavier!  I'm proud of ya!

WTG and I am sure the band will enjoy the funds you helped raise!

Do something nice for yourself with the tips!

Wow, that does sound like a long day. Just think of the great exercise you got and have fun spending that $535 on something for you! Great job! And like the other posted commented, just think how you would feel if you had done that day before your weight loss!

hmmm sounds like you need to go shopping, with a pit stop for a pedicure for those tired puppies first
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Part of why I posted this is because I DID do this last year and I remember how horrible I felt.  I was so miserable and I never thought I would make it through the day.  This time I really stayed energized all day and despite the hard work and soreness, I still felt good at the end of the day.   Last year i only worked 5 tables and I could hardly keep up.  This year, with 8 tables I kept up and NO ONE at my tables was dissatisfied (of course I got them all REAL drunk cause once I memorized what they were drinking I just kept them flowing!)
But yes......everyone is right; the difference between this year and last year is unbelievable!
Thanks everyone!
