Skim Milk for Protein Question

I have been trying several protein drinks and not really loving any of them so far.  I was wondering like for breakfast once I get on soft foods, if I could have two cups of skim milk which would be 16 grams of protein and oatmeal which has 7 grams of protein.  Is that too many calories or too much food to fit in my pouch?  I guess I will figure it out when the time comes.  I am only 5 days out and dreaming of soft foods!

Thanks.

I am 11 lbs. down!

You mentioned your pouch, If you are RNY- there would be no way you could get that much in this early out.
Your profile says band...........I am not sure about the band restrictions.
I am sure a bandster will be on here to answer that one!

Good luck to you and congrats on the 11 lb. loss in 5 day!  That is wonderful.

Hey Dana, remember with a band we have those "slider" foods.  To get enough protein through milk and mushy oatmeal, you will never feel full and you will consume too many calories.  Usually the goal is 60-70 gms of protein a day (your nut may have set something different though) and 8 oz of skim milk has only 4 gms protein but 90 calories.  You really need to add protein supplements at this stage until you can eat solids.  I gravitated towards syntrax proteins because you could mix them with water and they had fruit flavors and tea flavors
Good luck!  Sonja
