I saw an advertisement that Georgetown is having a new patient seminar in Florence tonight, I think Dr. Sonnanstine is going to be there.  I am going with my friend who was in the process at St. Luke.  Is anyone else going?

Dr. S did both my husband's and my lap surgery we are definitly going just so we can find out how to move all of our files to him. I think that he should not be penalized for a very hard choice he was faced with. Unless he is like 5 hours from here Patrick and I will continue to follow him he is simply of all different kinds of doctors I have seen in my lifetime the very best.

I am going.  I too want to know information.  I am not interested in surgery, but I am concerned what if I need surgery, will he still be available if I would develop a problem.  I am also in need of getting my labs so I need to know if his new location can give me an order and if I can have it done here.  Just have questions, I know he will be facing lots of questions.  If nothing else I just want to say HI and let him know I will follow him.  I still remember my first visit when he spoke that this was a lifetime comitment.  He said I had to promise to see HIM  every year every year.

Jane, I saw you there but didn't get a chance to speak to you.....  I was a little disappointed that a staff member explained the surgery instead of Dr. Sonnanstine, that isn't like any information session I have seen.....  But that's ok it seemed like the staff knows what they are doing.  They were well prepared and very educated. I didn't realize for awhile that was the doctor standing in the back of the room.
I did talk to Brenda before I left, I went back to ask her a question but she was talking to someone else.  I tried to send her a message but It won't let me click on her name here..I wondered if she would be working in Georgetown with Dr. Sonnanstine.  She went into surgery with a friend of mine and was hoping she would be with my husband if he decides to have surgery.

I was impressed by the staff.  They were very professional.  I came out of curiosity and brought a friend who has thought about surgery.  She is even more curious now.  She lives in Ohio and wondered if she could see the facility and maybe go to something down there just to check it out first.  Can anyone tell me if there is anything like that?

That is an excellent question.  Maybe I will hint to Dr. Sonnanstine that he should have an open house once he is settled in.  That way folks can come visit the facility and once again meet him in person.  I hope to make a trip down there in a few weeks to see what taste he has in decorating his new office..lol

Hey Penny...Tonight was really all about introducing the program in this area.  And probably (this is my guess) a chance for Dr. Sonnanstine to see how Georgetown runs a program.. Dr. Sonnanstine also told me earlier that he didn't want the focus to be on him tonight but rather on the program itself.  As you saw there were many post ops in the crowd.  I am sure things will slowly change and Dr. Sonnanstine will be more verbal in the meetings.
He did give folks the opportunity to ask him questions and at times even added in his word if he wanted more said.  He stood in the back off the room so that he could be there to greet people and answer any one on one questions they may have.
I am sorry I missed you in the end.  Please feel free to email me direct..I do have my profile turned off to make changes.
As for going to work for Dr. Sonnanstine, sadly the answer is no...he never ask me to go with him..
Seriously I would love to work with his program but I can't move down to the area.  I have obligations here with my family (grandson)..as well as my new job with the Breast Cancer Center.
However, if my schedule permits and Gtown as well as Dr. Sonnanstine would allow.  I would love to be there once in awhile for surgery..
