Vicki, my heart goes out to you,  it is hard to lose a member of the family!! maybe in a couple of months you can get you a new puppy, I know that sounds soon, but my best friend Carol. had to put her 17 year old poodle down, and she went through a really bad time, I don't want any more dogs she said, etc. etc. well her husband got a mutt, and she wasn't to happy about it, now 2 years later, she couldnt live without bruiser, lol.  bruiser is like a son to her, take care, and try not to eat to much, especially after just having a fill, you make get sick from it!!

Vicki,

I know exactly what you are going through.  I am so sorry but you did the right thing by stopping the suffering.  You need to have a "do something special day" just for you.

I have a house full of cats and dogs.  I had one who was my baby.  We had to have one of his legs amputated due to cancer and thought we had it all but we didn't.  We had to put him down and it was just like losing a member of the family.

Vicki - I went through this last year with our chow mix who was 14 - I couldn't be there with her at the end, but Bill was there.  It is truly like losing a member of the family and I'm so sorry you're having to go through this.  It's so so hard!  Blessings to you.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I totally understand what you are going through.  Non Pet Lovers sometimes don't get it.  This is a website that gave me some comfort when I lost my best friend Simba.   http://petloss.com/
