So, what do I need?
Hi Everyone!
I am getting excited to start preparing for my surgery in 21 days and a wake up. But, even though I have read these posts a million times I am having a brain cramp.
What should I bring to the hosptial?
I know of:
comfortable loose fitting clothing.
lotion
slippers
carmex
feminine supplies
blackberry
nano
I appreciate any input you can give me. I will be packing shortly. Rather be ready than late.
Thanks

if you want to leave feeling fresh they let me shower before going home and that was heaven. I brought my own bodywash travel size and some hairstyling stuff and makeup I dont leave the house without my hair done and makeup on. so naturally those were things I packed by I am vein

Hello everyone!
Thank you! I have noted all of it in the ole blackberry...now, if I can remember where I put it when it gets closer. Ha ha. It is a new toy and still learning.
I so appreciate your input. I would have missed something surely. I am one to think, better to pack too much than miss something.
I do not know if family will be home or staying in the hotel near hosptial. So, I must make certain I have it all. I think with 2 drivers it would behoove them to stay home but Hubby wants to be right there. Which I can truely understand.
Thanks again
and keep your eyes peeled for more questions to come I am sure.

everyone has great ideas - the only thing I would add would be some of those Pond's Facial Wipes - really nice to have a clean face in the hospital - don't know if anyone mentioned a hair brush either but brushing your teeth, combing your hair and washing your face can make me feel like a new woman.
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Mine is for at home. I have issues with the steri strips ( allergicso I blistered bad!) and thought mine came off way to early anyways. Well...when I went to the drug store the pharmacist recommended butterfly bandaids! They adhere better than the steri strips and did not irritate my skin at all. They also enabled me to change them when necessary, wash underneath them and apply neosporin without removing them each time, and air flow to get to incisions and aid with healing! Also Dial liquid antibacterial hand soap! Dale used it after his triple bypass to keep incision clean (hospital recommended it and it works fantastic. So...my list to add to yours would be:
1) butterfly bandaids (Riteaid brand is great)
2) Dial liquid antibacterial soap for incision cleaning
Happy packing and let the countdown begin!
