Surgery is Friday!

2+ yrs out and I still don't drink the same amount of coffee as I did before surgery and rarley ever drink sodas at all. If I do, I shake them alot to get rid of the bubbles.

Cold beverages are not a comfortable on my pouch even now. The hotter the better! Same with my food.

Hot tea is my staple beverage. I really don't worry about the caffeine, but rather focus on getting the ounces of fluid needed.

I'm 5 weeks out of RNY and I have just started to do a little caffine (morning hot tea to get things jump started-in more ways than one) but went cold turkey before hand.

You'll have a smooth ride since you are pretty trim now.  The diet cokes were an addiction and I did have headaches but I do think I sleep better.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.  Yes, my Mom had lap band surgery December 15 and has lost 35 lbs.  I'm hoping I do as well as she has!  I thought I would have a harder time at not drinking cokes, but it hasn't been that bad.  I've switched to decaf tea with real suger, now I have to switch to making it with Splenda.

You all are a great bunch!  I'll be checking back in soon.

Hi Dana- Good luck and it will all go fine. I was under 40 BMI on surgery day and it didn't matter. I am not missing cokes either but I do drink tea some.
