Thanks for this post!   I kind of freaked out when I heard Dr. S left St. Luke's.   I was so happy for the OH support.   You especially seem well informed and it was a great blessing to hear some details and especially to find out I didn' t have to wait til June to see Dr. S!

Nene, I was told by someone at the center that there will be no program fee for Dr. S.  Which is good since he is the one that I hope to have do my Band.  :)

That would be awesome.  It would def. keep a lot of previous Gtown patients @ Georgetown Hospital.  I had some post-op complications about 4 yrs out from my RNY and the original surgeon had moved to Tennessee.  I ended up having 2 loose staples that were "residing" in my stomach and had to pay the program fee again to get it fixed because it was different surgeons than my original.  =/

I talked to Gtown insurance person today and there will be no program fee!!!!  She explained that Dr. S doesn't need to charge one because the center covers it all so there is no overhead for him to have to pay.   Sounds great to me.    My problem now is that he seems to have disappeared from the TRICARE provider list.    I tell you if its not one thing, its another!   :)

Thanks for the post! I still feel like I was thrown out with the bathwater at SLH!

Still struggling and not feeling the love from the current coverage but can't wait until April 1 for follow up care.

Guess I will muddle through on my own.

oh no, please don't feel that way...you are not alone and Georgetown isn't that far.  They have an awesome support group...

I'm very upset about this. I called to make sure before I payed my program fee that Dr. S wasn't leaving...they told me no, he wasn't leaving..just moving to the other side of the building...Well then the next day, I called and they said no, he wasn't leaving til June. So I went ahead and payed the program fee because she said that I would end up having the surgery before Dr. S leaves because I had everything done that I needed.  Well ...I go to the doctor today and Guess what! Dr. S isn't there. If only you knew how pissed I was. They expect me to let someone else that I haven't a clue about them or how long they been doing this type of surgery do Lap band on me. I don't think so. What really chapped my hide is...they didn't tell me til after the first app. I went to that Dr. S took another job over at GeorgeTown. Its not that he moved over George town thats the problem...matter of fact thats great for me because its an hour closer. Isn't there any way that they have to give my money back or atleast some because its their fault in the first place for telling me to not worry about him leaving because he wasn't til a few months down the road and that if he did that he would still do the surgery.  Does anyone know if he still takes Kentucky medicaide?? Because I've already payed the program fee and don't have the money to just throw around...it was hard enough to come up with that much. Seems like that he would have to take his pre-op paitents and finish with what needs to be done over GeorgeTown....Some one...please help me. This has broke my heart. I really feel that he is the one that was meant to do my surgery and only him. Just that I can't afford to throw my money away that I payed in. Please help....
