Aftercare for Dr. Sonnanstine patients
In light of the recent events, a number of patients have been asking about our office policy on taking aftercare patients. Typically we don't take patients for post-op care into our practice, but in this cir****tance we will be happy to do so. We do have a new office that just opened in Northern Kentucky on Thomas More Parkway, we currently have somewhat limited hours there but will expand them as needed.
For more information just call our office at 513-559-1222.
I know both Dr. Sonnanstine and Dr. Smith and his partners quite well. They are all excellent doctors. Having been in a similar situation such as this myself with Deaconess a couple of years ago, it is very unfortunate that the patients are the ones who get caught in the middle.

Thanks, Dr. Curry.
I understand that you are now an Anthem provider, so my visits should be covered by my insurance. And since you're originally from Alexandria, I'm hoping you don't plan to move very soon!! Can't wait to see my band under fluoroscope.

PS My husband is also wanting a lapband; his diabetes doctor is especially in favor of surgery. Even Medicare is now recognizing lapband surgery as a treatment for diabetes. I'm hoping that will be in his favor for getting insurance approval. I had to "jump through a few hoops" to show them that my non-surgical weight loss attempts had failed.

Tell it like it is Brenda. There are a lot of Dr. Sonnanstine's patients out there up for grabs. I bet I start getting flyers in the mail asking me to come to there office. I will stick to Dr. Tom, I already have my name on his list in Georgetown and going to St.Luke today to start getting my files sent to him. Brenda I would like to express my feelings to St. Luke/St. Elizabeth in either an email or letter. Would I send them to the board of directors or is there a specifice person? I do not think Dr. S would come back, but in America we express our feelings. When you talk to him give him my best and I will see him in April. I would encourage everyone in the name of great healthcare and Dr. Tom to start a letter campaign.

Gail,
With all due respect, I doubt Dr. Curry sees these patients as "up for grabs." I think he is just seeing a lot of disappointed people and is trying to be helpful.
It seems like a lot of people are overly sensitive during this time, especially with Dr. S leaving. I say follow Dr. Tom and let this drama die down.

Dr C...what an awesome option you are offering! I do not think of this as an advertisement at all...merely letting people know that you are willing to make exceptions in your own practice to accommodate those who perhaps cannot make the trip to Dr S' new location. there are lots of patients out there that have looked into changing providers and have run into alot of obstacles along the way.
Brenda...your cynicism is not becoming. LOL
