X Post: I married a pirate and we were caught sneaking a blizzard from DQ!

This one time....in
Band Camp.....

This morning super hubby and I were woke up around 8am when Gracie stomped in our room, flipped on the lights, strode over and uncovered her daddy's head saying "You went to Dairy Queen last night without ME?  Why did you do that??"

   BUSTED!!!

The empty blizzard cup (evidence) was left on the counter since superhubby has this annoying habit of not being able to actually take one more step and put it in the trash can (a pet peeve of mine).

To keep from being flogged by a six-year-old we ended up promising to take her to DQ for lunch and her own blizzard after her swim lesson. Thankfully, she decided to let us off the hook!

While we were lounging and playing in the "big bed" with her this morning (typical Saturday laziness and family time) she started playing with my earings asking why I had two holes in each ear but only used one.  I told her I just don't use the other holes anymore.  I then went to tell her that her daddy actually had an earing hole in his ear that he doesn't use anymore either.  Feeling goofy I went on to tell her, "You know why he has an earing hole don't you???.....he used to be a pirate....ask him yourself"

Well, she fell for it hook, line and sinker!!

Before we were done spinning our silly story for her, Captain Jack Sparrow is really her daddy's brother, I made daddy get rid of his pirate ship when we got married and his pirate name was Captain Crunch!!!!   She proceeded to call both mamaws and tell them this story as if it were fact!

I can't quit giggling over it long enough to feel guilty for telling her such a tale tale just yet....

I bet it some kind of fun at your house. You always have something to lift our spirits and just have a laugh. Your awesome Becka! Enjoy your daughter, mine is already sassy and thinks she knows it all at only 12!

I'm like Leslie, I'd like to have a blizzard too.  Good thing Dairy Queen closed about 2 hours ago here or I might be tempted to go get one.

I love the pirate story.  What quick thinking you had.  I can't wait until you go to the grocery and she points at Captain Crunch and asked what that is.  And you telling her that it's the cereal that was named after her dad.

Oh my gosh, I'm still laughing at this.

Hey Becka that is a great story!

Gracie will always remember having fun at home and being silly with Mom and Dad.  In this day giving her the gift of silliness is wonderful.  Wtih so much seriousness around kids now it is wonderful to hear silly fun.

She will laugh hard at this in the future...write it down and put it in her scrapbook.

thanks for sharing
