Does anyone else have Dr. Smith?

Hey!

I haven't been on the boards in a while.  I just won my appeal to get my lap band!!..Yea me!!  I was wondering if anyone else has Dr. Smith, from up at St. Elizabeth South?!  If, so, what was your experience with him?!

Yes, I know someone who had him...her experience was not a good one.  I am in Northern Ky as well.  Would not be my choice and I am a surgical nurse.  I will leave it at that.

OMG, you're kidding?!  Crap, I just got approved and told insurance he was my doctor!  I hope your friend is ok and things ended up going well for her.

Congrats on your appeal, what's your story?  Are you having another wls or just having your band removed?  I really  hope everything works out okay for you!

Thanks a bunch!  I am not having either.  Actualy, I started the process of trying to get approved since last April.  I got denied twice.  Then, I kinda gave up for a while.  I decided to try one last time and submitted my appeal again in December.  I finally got my appeal approved this past Tuesday!!!!  Yea me!!! 

I am so excited that I can't hardly stand it!!!!  I do have to admit I may be just i little nervous also.  Any words of wisdom??

I had lapband with Dr. Smith and my sister had gastric bypass.  We had a wonderful experience with great success.  I would definately recommend him.  Sis was in his office just this past week and was told he will be taking over at St. Luke when that doctor has left.  I am very excited for him.  He will have all he needs there with a staff already in place.
Maybe we can all meet up at a support group meeting!!!
