Xpost: Someone tell me I'm an airhead and this just isn't possible!!
I was measuring Gracie's height this morning since she weighed with me on the scale so I could mark it on her growth chart (I'm all about those percentiles) as it's been four or five months since i've written it down.
Anyway, I decided to measure myself to see if I was truly 5 foot 5 inches or 5 foot 5 1/2 inches. LOL...any good dieter knows that half an inch could make a difference on BMI!!!
OK, so guess what I got for my height today??? 5 foot 6 1/2 inches!!!
I went back and measured again just to make sure I wasn't doing things wrong and yep, I got it again!!
I think in the past I had just measured myself wrong and maybe I was standing a little straighter this morning. I mean has anyone heard that you can GAIN an inch in height when you lose weight??
OK, now I'm off to check my BMI and redo my EWL percentages!!

you might indeed be an airhead, I doubt that's true and it really isn't true because of this
I have heard this happening so often
My surgeon's office measured me before surgery at 5 51/2 before surgery - in October they measured me at 5 7"
I think it has something to do with spinal compression - all that extra weight I was carrying around was pulling me down, literally

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Brutal honesty!! I love it!
Someone on the band board said their doc said due to their scoliosis as they gained weight the curvature increased and they appeared shorter. Her theory is that as she loses weight she will reclaim those inches.....makes sense in one respect but I'm still not convinced....I think i've got a touch of airhead in me too!!
Regardless, my BMI stats have changed!!!
