Hi Everyone!!!
Hi Everyone!! I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi. I've been on OH for a few months but haven't really made any local contacts in NKY. I'd love to make some friends who've gone through or are going through some of the same life changes that I've been going through.
I had RNY on December 31, 2008. So far I've lost 34 pounds and I am loving everything about it. I'm learning so much about myself and re-educating my brain on it's interpretation of food and it's purpose in my life. I'm married with two little girls ages 3 and 1. they are my life and I am enjoying my whole family more and more every day.
I live in Crescent Springs, just south of Cincinnati so any outings or meetings that go on in the area I would definitely be interested in attending. I work full time as a computer tech support expert at a pharmaceutical research company in downtown Cincinnati.
I hope to be speaking to all of you soon!!
Hey there!
I'm not on here nearly as often as I used to be....but I saw your post and thougth I'd say Hi.
I'm also a patient of Dr. Tom and live in Northern Ky. You're doing wonderfully well on your journey so far and I wish you all the best.
I had Lap RNY a little over 2 years ago and the hardest part for me has been and still is the mental side of why I eat. But I think knowing it's something I struggle with helps me to keep it somewhat in check.
My life since surgery has changed quite a bit in terms of what I can do physically. Now, I can do pretty much anything I want to do...with a few exceptions. I'm still a klutz....some thigs NEVER change! But I can walk as long as I want without thinking about it, sit in any chair without thought of whether I'll fit or not, I don't worry what people will think of me in public.....its a been a very freeing experience.

we do not see the one which has been opened for us.

I am from Aurora Indiana, not to far from you.
I am a patient off Dr.toms also.
I had the lap rny and i will honestly tell you it has saved my life, its the decision i ever made for myself.
You are doing great and when they tell you life will be diffrent its true, food is no longer my best friend and it doesnt control me anymore.
I am like Chris i am still a klutz but i was like that before the surgery.
But its nice to get up and put something on and not have to try on everything in the closet til you find something that fits.
Then you leave and dont have to worry did i take all my meds and am i gonna be able to go and will i embarass myself.
Now i can get up and go i have to remember to eat that is my hard thing, vary seldom do i get the urge to eat anymore.
I will be over your way alot in the next 2 weeks if you wonna meet up,i live on the borders so i usually go to Indy functions,im wanting to go to meet the others from this board.
Good luck and holler if i can be of help
Sonja

For all my NKY pals....when I have the March party at my house please consider coming as you all are most definitely invited. The good part is that I am within spitting distance of I-71 (I can hear the semi's sometimes) and about 18 miles north of Louisville so you don't have to mess with the traffic (although I think NKY/Cincy traffic is the big time compared to us!).
I am about 50 minutes from the Cincy bridge when I don't get hung up in traffic.
