Another use for TVP/TSP
Late last nite we got the munchies and hubby & I both wanted something salty. So we made some homemade egg drop soup...Frankie is an excellent cook and I knew the soup would sooo hit the spot but.......I knew it was missing the crunchy goodness of the fried won-tons. Love those little bites of fried goodness. So while searching the cabinets I had a brillant idea...haha
We added the TSP to it! OH MY!! Was it ever yummy.
Ok so the real reason for this post was to re-live the warm soup that I so crave tonight but damn it....we're outta eggs!!!
Oh well! Hope all is well & warm with everyone tonight.

Sorry, I guess I just assumed everyone knew....its textured soy protein or textured veggie protein...I posted something about it a while back...i'll copy & paste it again.............
It is these small granules about the size of oatmeal, they are hard & crunchy but when you put them in some kind of food they get soft. I use them in soup alot and they get the texture of meat...kinda reminds me of the meat in Wendys chili. They have no flavor and are just the bomb. I sprinkle them in salad for the crunch factor that I miss from the mound of croutons that I no longer eat.
I get them at the local health food store and they are really cheap....an 8oz bag is $1.77...cant beat that huh?
Heres the nut values...
1/4 cup
73 calories
1.5g fat
6g carbs
3.5g fiber
1.5g sugar
11g protein

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.
