Need encouragement, please
Hi everyone. Just looking for moral support. I'm having RNY on 2/4/09 and starting to feel very nervous. I feel like i've reached a point where this is the only real choiceleft for me, I keep gaining weight and getting bigger and more unhealthly along the way. Anybody got any advice or just good old fashion encouragement for a nervous newcomer
Hi,
I'm having my surgery the day before yours so we can make this journey together. I've had my last meal and start the clear liquids tomorrow. I'm just wanting to get thissurgery over with and am very anxious about what I can eat right after. I'm just nervous about starting anything but liquids after surgery. Lean on me and we'll get through this together. I can definitely say keep checking the boards and you'll get alot of encouragement and advice--as well as some great friends!
Hope to meet you soon.
Dana
Hope that was one GREAT last meal. I know what you mean about wanting to get this surgery over with. I'll add you to my prayers. I'll loan you a shouldar. Hope things go well, let me know how you are doing

Hi Becca!
Yep, the nervous feeling is entirely normal!! Sorry but very few get to skip that part! Some boards on here refer to the time prior to surgery as the "2-Week Freak" for all the crazy thoughts and deeds we seem to do leading up to the actual surgery!
Even us bandsters are not immune! I cleaned house like a demon was at my back, paid bills two months ahead, filled the freezer for the family and even made a list of approved female friends my hubby could "take-up with" if anything happened to me. LOL....There's only a few I'd want to be my daughter's step-mother!!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/rofl2.gif)
If you know in your heart this is the right thing for you then rest easy and try to fret as little as possible since 80% of the things we worry about in life never come to be so it's simply wasted energy!
Welcome to the board as well! you've found a great group of guys and gals as we are chatty, quirky and supportive regardless of surgical type which often isn't the case on other boards.
I see you have Dr. Oldham. He's a cutie!! So are you having your surgery in Lexington or in Louisville at Baptist East??
