Dr. Shina's patients...one Q

Hi Everyone-
I read a lot on the main board about the question of  coffee. I do not drink excessive amounts of coffee, but I do have one in the am and ever so rarely a second in the afternoon.  My body is caffinine sensative, so I try not to drink it too often, but I do like coffee.  My question is what is Dr. Shina's policy on coffee?  Can we have it at all?  Do we have to wait a few weeks? What do you all do?

thanks

hey Sandi
I sent you a PM

he is ok....he is feeling puny today.  Think he got some bug yesterday (yeah, cause he needed that like a hole in his head) as he was last night...and today he wants rice to eat. Poor guy. I wonder if he will catch a break.

Maybe he will feel better later today...that is if it is a 24 hour bug.

Thanks for asking...and I will await Dawn's answers.

Ok. Dr.Shina said in my seminar that caffeine is your choice.. its not good for you but he cant make u stop.. Missy drinks starbucks occasionally(i have seen the cup) and there is one bypass patient that was Dr.Shina's that drank code red mt dew at support groups.. I do know you are suppose to be caffeine free the first 6 months due to dehydrating your body.. I have hot had caffeine in 16 months and rarely miss it BUT I didnt ever drink coffee..
Sol, you  should be ok on one cup a day BUT REMEBER, it will dehydrate you the first six months.. You can also add vanilla protein powder to it and make it protein coffee and make it even more allowable!!!
Glad your hubby is doing better... and hope your B-I-L- get s home safely its all ice here around fort knox
