Need your good thoughts...

Good morning, everyone!  I am up bright and early on a snow day here in Owensboro.  I'm asking for your good thoughts/prayers this morning.  We are taking our little 1 year old to have surgery for tubes this morning.  Now, I know that this is a super simple procedure, and he'll be done with surgery w/in 15 minutes or so, but we have never had any of our kids needing any type of surgery before and, I admit, am a little nervous for our little guy.  There is no IV or anything, but would still appreciate your good thoughts for him (and for me!).  Thanks!  I'll update as soon as we get home!

Prayers headed your way and safe driving and watch over the little guy while he is in surgery.  Its simple they just give him a suppository and he goes to sleep he will be fine.

Awww Kelly...thoughts of good wishes and prayers on their way! Aubrey has had 4 sets and Sarah has had 2 ...all done by the age of 5 so I understand! It scares me everytime! Dale was there for Sarah's last one and it scared the crap out of him. She was 4 then. He stayed home with her afterwards because I had to work and he felt so bad he let her put make up, nail polish and hair clips and bows in his hair....what there is of it! She loved it! They bounce back fairly quick...the parents take a little longer!

Oh, bless his little heart - I hope everything went smoothly and you are home soon cradling your baby and kissing his little forehead, prayers for you both as you get through this.
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Yep, know just how you feel!

Gracie had 5 "procedures" done by time she was 22 months old!  One set of ear tubes, three tear duct probes with stints and one actual surgery to reconstruct her tear ducts that never formed properly.

Each one is stressful and the just don't get any easier!  Bring your darling home and cuddle him as much as you can the rest of the day!  Thankfully he's young enough that he will never remember it.  that's why I opted to have Gracie's reconstruction done so early although it could have waitied a few months.

I'll tell you though...it's sort of fun watching a drunk toddler once they give them the Versed!

Good luck and be careful on the roads!!  Hopefully y'all will be home before the second round of snow and ice starts!

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts!  We are home now.  We were gone from home for a total of 3 hours.  The roads were slushy when we left for the hospital, and turned to ice on the way home.  Good thing we live only a few blocks from the hospital.
John was a grumpy gus when he came out from anestisia (sp?  sorry!).  They just gave it to him through a mask and he breathed it in.   We got home about 30 minutes ago and it's like he never had anything done today!  He's eaten breakfast, had some milk and is now playing.  Amazing.  Mommy and Daddy are wiped out, though!  LOL!  He woke up at 4 wanting a bottle and was not happy with us.  So, we've all been up since 4:00.  Not to bad for me, since I normally wake up at 5:30, but MIke (my hubby) doesn't normally get up until 9...so now HE"S a bear!  LOL!
Anyway, thanks so much, again, for your prayers.  It really means alot!
