Anthemppo/Medicare

Hello, my name is Velma. I live in Louisville,ky and wondered if anyone may also live here who has already been thru the pre surgical stuuf. Wondered also if anyone can tell me if they are or have had LapBand thru the program for Jewish/St. Mary's here. what was the entire costs you yourself had to come up with before surgery??? Any info would be deeply appriciated.

  Hi, Im dawn and I had surgery at suburban hospital by Mark Shina on sept 14,07. I have currently lost 88 pounds of wich 6 was preop. I have a 14cc band and currently have 6cc's in the band..
  We have great support group meetings, and support people at Norton's. If there are any questions please feel free to ask.. Keep in mind Saturdays around here are slow.. it picks up during the week..
  Good luck in you search.. Just remember GO TO MULTIPLE SEMINARS AND LOOK AT MULTIPLE DOCTORS, so that you make sure you find one that fits you and your needs.. You will be essentially married to your doctor for years!!!!

Hi Velma,

I'm Becka and I had my band placement in November of 2007.  My hubby is also banded and he had his placed April of 2008.  Like Dawn, we are Norton's kids too.  We had ours at the Downtown hospital though with a different surgeon.

I was a self-pay (insurance denied) and my total cost was $16,400.  Yes it was a HUGE chunk to pay but in reality it was PRICELESS.  LOL....so I've maxed out the equity line on the house but then again I'll live longer to pay it!

I did check into the Sts. Mary & Elizabeth program when I was first considering this but I found that their prices (without insurance) were higher so I opted for Norton's.  I am very happy with my result thus far.
